| Children need to bring their own packed lunch. | |||
You may note that the cost of full day care is greater than the cost of a morning and afternoon session combined.
This is because the Nursery is registered to provide full-day care and must employ a greater ratio of qualified staff to children over the lunchtime period.
To offer solely sessional care, the Nursery would be obliged to re-register accordingly and as such, close the premises over the lunchtime period - meaning all children would need to be collected from the Nursery and then brought back if they wished to have an afternoon session as well.
- Funding is now available in Essex, Southend &Thurrock to provide children from the age of three with Early Years Education. This is called the Nursery Education Grant.
- This funding becomes available the term after your child's 3rd birthday.
- Children are entitled to 5 free 2½ hour sessions per week (up to 38wks/year)
- Parents / carers do not have to access all 5 sessions.
- Many parents and carers prefer to start with 2 or 3 sessions and build their children up to 5 sessions.
- Free Early Years Education provision is good but you play the most important role in the education of your children - you may wish to spend time going to the park for example.
- Registration for this funding is done by the Setting
